Red on the Square
Isn’t this an impressive red brick building? It was constructed in 1905 by John E. Brown for the Hood County State Bank. The wide round arched entryway and windows and its pyramidal turret is a distinguished example of the Victorian Richardsonian Romanesque architectural style. The bank operated for only eight years, after which various offices and businesses occupied the building. Currently Red on the Square occupies the entire bottom floor while The Granbury on West Pearl (a Bed and Breakfast) is on the top floor. The renovation of the top floor was featured on the CNBC HGTV show Cash Pad. The hosts, JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rogers, were in Granbury during the weeklong renovation and the show, which was shot in April 2019, can be seen on YouTube.
