Exciting Entertainment Planned for July 4th Celebration

June 29, 2018

The Granbury Chamber of Commerce takes great pleasure in announcing the entertainment line-up for the Independence Day festival beginning July 3rd. The day-and-a-half bash will feature both indoor and outdoor performances for the entire family.

Beginning Tuesday, July 3rd, the exciting Concert in the Park hosted by 95.3 KHITS and Cheerful Heart Gifts & Boutique rocks out at 7:00pm. The free concert will feature the highly-acclaimed InVersion Band playing hits from the ‘60s through the present and dance music for all ages. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and coolers while you take in all your favorite hits under the stars. There will be additional food vendors on hand featuring brats on the grill, hamburgers, nachos, French fries, gourmet popcorn, snow cones, and ice cold beer.

Patriotism abounds on Tuesday evening at the annual “Acton Celebrates America” event at the Acton United Methodist Church. From 7:00pm until 9:00pm, enjoy live patriotic music and participate in fun raffle drawings. There will even be cobbler and ice cream afterwards! This is a free event and open to the public.

On Wednesday, July 4th, you’ll want to check out the live performance of Rogue Nation at the Granbury Square Plaza immediately after the Hometown Parade (approximately 12:30pm). This local band of pre-teens will be playing popular selections of ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s rock for your entertainment. Cool off under the shade of the Plaza and enjoy the fun sounds of this young group.

After lunch, plan to take in a special presentation of “Footloose: The Musical” at the Granbury Opera House. Beginning at 2:00pm, this musical is based on the 1980s movie of the same name about Ren, a young man from Chicago who moves to a small farming community, and brings his love of music and dance with him much to the angst of the local preacher. The performance is great and the air conditioning is cold, so get your tickets now!
